Halloween Movies Watch List 2025
With baseball season nearly over (for our beloved Angels at least), spooky season is nearly upon us. Loving seasonal holiday content, we typically will binge episodes of our favorite TV shows, and will watch some scary movies during October and on Halloween night.
We've slowly ramped up the intake over the years, and last year committed to watching a movie every night in the month of October. Admittedly, it was a bit much with everything we had going on at the time. We did pull it off, granted, some nights at least one person dozed.
Sadly, I didn't document anything last year, and at this point I don't even remember if we had a theme. That said, usually the theme is vampires, regardless of the season.
This year the theme we're going with is... remakes!
Vampires do make an appearance though ;)
Since we'll most likely be partying in the cul-de-sac and handing out candy (and trading cards) on Halloween, we threw it out, giving us 30 days for movies. Rather than simply watching remakes of movies, the plan is to watch 15 original films, and the remakes of those films.
I say "original" but I use the term loosely. At least one of the movies has had multiple remakes, so we didn't opt for the very first release. We'll also be watching them in batches, so day 1-15 will be originals, day 16-30 will be remakes. Both batches will be watched in order of their release.

But you forgot to include
This isn't meant to be some exhaustive list of horror remakes. It's definitely not a list of horror classics that have been remade. It's not even about the quality of the original or the remake.
It's just a list of movies, that we're going to watch in October. Some of the movies we've seen both the original and the remake. Some just the original, some just the remake. Some of the entries we haven't seen either.
You can watch along at home, or use this information to make your own list.
What's important about this list, is that it was curated without the use of generative AI. There's less rhyme or reason because it's sourced mostly from random bits floating around in my head.
And bias toward figuring out a theme that could include Paris Hilton.
