So I guess that makes me a liar

It was just over a year ago that I wrote this gem.

I shouted to the world that I was done fucking around with how my blog looked
and would solely focus on content creation moving forward.

Indefinitely.

5ever.

Then a little over a year later, I got a bug up my ass and decided that the best
course of action would be to redesign my blog.

So yeah, guess that makes me a liar.

It wasn’t a full tear down or anything like that.I opted to port the site over
to Bootstrap 4 as I’ve been enjoying using it over at CrowdSync and
intentionally wanted to build off of the old design instead of reinventing
things.

Same bones, new skin, I guess you could say.

Thing is though, I don’t actually consider myself a liar. I do happen to say a
lot of shit. I have some strong opinions and enjoying sharing them on my blog
and with my friends.

Problem there is, I do tend to make these matter of fact proclamations that I
end up recanting down the road.

As I like to say, it’s just part of the process.

Case in point, I’ve started using more vim plugins again (Thanks Brewer
😉 even though I swore them off last October

So what sparked all of this? I think the biggest catalyst was the fact that I
have been promoting my startup CrowdSync via a sidebar ad and it was very much
just hacked in there and was distracting the content, especially any <table>s
in my VPS showdown posts.

I took a smidge of inspiration from CSS Tricks and implemented the sidebar in
such a way that it didn’t interfere with the content itself. I’m very happy with
how that turned out.

I also wanted to implement a bit more navigation in the future. Maybe do one of
those hipster “uses” pages, perhaps link to a page of all of the calculator type
posts I’ve done. Maybe even do a top posts page or an about me page.

With that, I am not going to shout from the rooftops that this is the FINAL
final redesign. At least I don’t think it will be.

There’s still some tweaking that will be happening in the coming weeks and if
you happen to notice anything wonky, feel free to hit me up about it!
